Diamonds & Gemstones

Faceting design built on real cutting experience.

Cutdesign draws on hands-on diamond and gemstone faceting and polishing work, using an unusual 3D design approach that very few in the field use.

Foundation

Second-generation cutter, since the 1990s

A cleaver and polisher building 3D models since the late 1990s — from hand-drawn sketches to computer models by 2001, using ray-trace and global-illumination light analysis to shape the design.

Approach

From shape to faceting order

Built on a principle set in the mid-1990s — every action performed on the polishing wheel can also be done on the computer. Upload a stone's shape, diameter, and dimensions, and the system plans a faceting sequence and delivers a ready 3D file.

Reach

Diamonds, gemstones, and CVD

Built to serve diamond and gemstone industries, jewelers, and end customers — including fancy color stones — with far more creative freedom now possible through CVD diamonds.

Coverage

In the press

Independent coverage of the diamond design and virtual polishing work.

HaYahalom Magazine, Issue 185

Diamond Designer

Profiled as part of a new profession in the diamond industry — translating ideas into models with independent 3D design tools, working from scanned rough images sent in by diamantaires. The finished model is then measured and optimized for size and clarity through Sarin's system before manufacture.

Israeli Diamond

Virtual Diamond Polishing

Covers a virtual polishing method built on dedicated 3D software, including light analysis — refraction, reflection, and dispersion — and handling of fancy color stones.
